What To Expect

Atmosphere

At First Baptist Church, you can expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can make new friends and get to know your neighbors in a comfortable, no-pressure environment. There is not a strict dress code, and you will see people in everything from shorts to suits on Sundays. Our concern isn't what is on the outside, but what is inside. Come as you are! You will enjoy meaningful, practical messages from the Bible that relate to the problems and pressures we all face.

Worship

It is our desire to have a distraction free worship environment that is Christ centered. At First Baptist Church, we have two different services to meet your needs.

Our Celebration Service begins at 9:00am in the Worship Center. The worship music includes a more traditional mix of praise songs and hymns accompanied by our Celebration Choir, organ, and piano.

Our Journey Service begins at 9:30am in Rodda Hall. The music has a more contemporary feel, featuring our Journey Worship band, complete with electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards, and drums.

Teaching

Knowing God intimately is our desire. As the Word of God is studied, our hearts are challenged and our lives become focused on Him. The teaching of God's Word is our highest priority and each week you will hear a message straight from the Bible.  We take Communion on the first Sunday of each month and invite all born again believers to participate with us.

Following both Sunday morning services, we offer Sunday School classes. All ages have classes and curriculum specially targeted for their needs. Services on Sunday and Wednesday evenings provide additional opportunities to worship and learn about God. Numerous small group Bible Studies are available throughout the week.

Children

The greatest gift we could give our children is teaching them to love Christ with all their heart. Children of all ages are welcome to stay with their parents during the church services. We also offer childcare during both Sunday morning services for babies and toddlers. Sunday School classes are available during the church services for children in preschool and elementary.

Students

Students are at a crossroads of owning their faith. Our challenge is to keep their relationship with God active and growing. Our desire is to see them completely adjust their lives to Him. Junior High and High School students meet together for Sunday School at 11:00am.

Giving

If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering. You are welcome to let the offering basket pass you by. Giving is an act of worship, and is not something that should be forced or done out of obligation. If you consider First Baptist Church your church home, we would love for you to prayerfully consider giving in support of our ministry. You can give by check or cash during the service, giving kiosks in Rodda Hall, or you can give online through our website.
